As a student I had the opportunity to reach out to and learn from many professionals that have a successful trajectory. Their knowledge and advice really opened my mind to how things worked outside of the educational world. This helped me grow professionally and also get a better view of the different directions my career path could take after graduating. Learning from the people around me is a life-long habit, I would also like to put my grain of sand and contribute to society by sharing my knowledge and experience.
We get periodic visits from students and professionals to our facilities at Whirlpool, I participate in these showing what I do at Whirlpool and also by giving my input on students’ projects according to what I’ve encountered in my job.

On the other hand, this year’s World Industrial Design Day, the UDEM celebrated 45 years of the Industrial Design Program in the university by inviting former students to talk about their experience. Though the rest of the professionals invited had graduated more than 10 years ago, I was also invited to talk about my experience and enjoyed talking about my short 4 year work experience and the role I had at Whirlpool.
